We have had to make the difficult decision to close Coffee Shop until further notice
as one of our staff members undergoes treatment for cancer.

“I came with trepidation the first time but the welcome I got was wonderful, everyone is very helpful indeed.  I find the service very good and the food and drinks very agreeable”.

“Great food, great value, great service.  The coffee shop is a very important part of the community.  It is used by a wide range of people, from the elderly to mothers with young children.  We will all support the plans and help raise the money to get the building done”.

“We need this important facility as Llanrumney is in need of it.  It is a meeting place for us all to get together.  We meet old and new friends; we get comfort and a friendly ear, when we feel down. There is nothing but community spirit here. Food excellent and prices affordable.  We will support and be here if you need us”.

“Came down with my mum, inset day in school.  Nice food, next time I would come down with friends.  It should be open more than one day a week because every time I have been here, it’s been packed”.

‘Building relationships at the heart of the community’

Have a look at our Coffee Shop page on Facebook
Siloam Baptist Church hosts a ‘Coffee Shop’ twice a week. Community residents of all ages fill the hall to capacity every Monday and lunch times on a Wednesday.  The menu offers a variety of breakfast and lunch foods at an attractive price.

God is as concerned about our physical nourishment as He is about our spiritual well-being. The coffee shop offers visitors a place to fellowship with one another as well as satisfy the appetite.

Plans for the future

We at Siloam believe the church should be the heart of the community, a safe and welcoming place where residents can meet together. In 2003, the church decided a coffee shop -- with a warm atmosphere and good food -- could be such a place.

Taking advice from Scripture, we wrote the vision down by drawing up building plans for the café. Taking a leap of faith, we started opening in the church once a week. The proceeds go into the building fund.

Planning permission to build the coffee shop adjacent to the church has already been granted.  Some of the required improvements to the existing building -- the addition of an disabled toilet as well as an upgrade of all toilet facilities -- have already been completed.

Once the building is finished we plan to be open 5 days a week.
We currently have in access of £63 000 towards the building.
