Sunday, Nov. 27, was Advent Sunday. It marks the beginning of the countdown to Christmas. Advent means ‘coming’ and many apply it to the Nativity of Yeshua the Messiah.
Advent comes from the Latin adventus which in turn comes from the Greek parousia. Out of the 24 times the word is used in the New Testament, 16 refer to the return of Yeshua and the 17th refers to the ‘Day of God.’
So advent is about the return of Yeshua as king and judge. Yeshua Himself tells us what to look for right before His return in Matthew 24 and what He expect of us in Matthew 25.
